Pranali Rathod the talented young actress is brimming with positive energy in the lead role of Akshara Goenka in Star Plus’ long-running and successful show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut. Pranali is also known for her roles in Barrister Babu and Kyun Utthe Dil Chod Aaye.
Pranali is paired with Harshad Chopda in the show and the audiences are excited to watch this new-age love story blossom with time.
We at IWMBuzz.com had a brief chat with Pranali amidst her hectic shoot schedule.
For Pranali, joining the cast of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as the new generation lead was a pleasant surprise. Her association with the show has been on for years, albeit as a viewer. Says Pranali, “I used to watch Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai with my mother during the phase of Naitik and Akshara. But when the story moved to Kartik and Naira, I got busy as I had started to work. Having said this, I have watched a few episodes of the second generation love tale with my mother. So when I was offered the role in the trilogy phase of the show, I was surprised. I never expected such a thing to happen as this was a show I used to watch with my mom. I cannot explain in words as to how I felt, but I was super happy for sure.”
Tell Pranali that fans are in praise of Harshad Chopda and her work as a pair in the show and she is quick to say, “True, everything about the love story of Abhimanyu and Akshara is unique. For both of them, this is their first love. There is an element of innocence in their love. There is passion and intensity too. The whole love story of Abhimanyu and Akshara is very unique.”
Pranali calls this an exciting phase in her career. “I have never played such a character before. I was in love with Akshara’s role when I bagged it. Every day, when I go to the set, I enter with the zeal and confidence that I put in something new to the character. I so look forward to shooting in the role of Akshara every day. Touchwood, this is a great phase in my career for me.”
Pranali is simply overwhelmed with the kind of positive response that she is getting from fans. Recollecting a fun fan moment, Pranali states, “Recently I was in a mall with my mother. I was wearing a mask and was shopping when all of a sudden a family came near me and recognized me. I was happy that they recognized me despite my mask. They praised the character so much and told me that I am doing a great job. They were also curious to know what was to happen in future between Abhimanyu and Akshara. I was so thrilled with their reaction. I liked the fact that they were engaged and curious to know more about the show. That was the most fun fan moment for me.”
