Father’s Day, celebrated with heartfelt affection on June 15th, is a special occasion dedicated to honoring the love, devotion, and sacrifices that fathers make for their children. This day provides an opportunity to reflect on the profound impact that fathers have on their child’s life, often in ways that go unrecognized. While it’s common to associate a child’s success predominantly with their mother’s influence, it’s essential to acknowledge that a father’s unwavering support and wise counsel play a crucial role in shaping a child’s character, values, and aspirations. Actress Anushka Merchande who essays the role of Anika in Zee TV’s Saru recollects the specials bond she shares with her father.

She says, “Some bonds do not need daily conversations or constant proximity — they thrive on presence, love, and shared moments that leave a lasting mark. My father and I share one of those bonds. He lives in Doha, and while we may not see each other often, every time he visits, it feels like no time has passed at all. But somehow, every time we reconnect, we pick up exactly where we left off.”

Talking about her Father’s Day memories, Anushka shares, “There’s this one tradition that has stood the test of time—video calling over breakfast on Father’s Day, sipping chai together,’ thousands of miles apart. I still remember the time he flew down just to attend my school play, even though he had to catch a return flight the very next morning. That small act made me feel seen and validated.”

She continues, “He has always been the kind of father who encourages dreams but also gives you space to fall and grow. His feedback is always honest, sometimes blunt, but always rooted in love. He is my reminder that distance does not weaken bonds; it just makes the reunions more meaningful.”

Happy Father’s Day to all our readers!!
