The wait was worth it: Kajol Srivastava on bagging Shani

Enchanting beauty Kajol Srivastava, who ruled audience’s heart as Devi in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, feels elated to be a part of Colors’ popular show Shani.

The actress, who was away from TV screens, says, “I was waiting for a good project. I rejected 5-6 offers. However, I feel it was all worth it. When I got this offer for Shani, I immediately said yes to it. But my next show would be a daily soap. I really miss doing it.”

She feels performing a mytho character is not an easy task. “I have done a costume drama and again I am a part of one but both are poles apart. It is difficult to carry such kind of role. I take around 2 hours to get the look of Yamuna or Yami. However, I am very happy and content doing the show. I am really liking the way my character is being portrayed.”

Talking about shooting in Umergaon, she adds, “I miss my family as I shoot in Umergaon (Gujarat) and stay here with the rest of the cast. However, I am happy that my travel time is being saved.”

When we ask how much she misses Ashoka, she avers, “All my memories of that show were flashing when I first came to Shani set. I miss my entire team. Recently, I learnt Mohit (Raina) was shooting close by my set so I went to surprise him too.”

Wish you more success, Kajol.
