Akshita Mudgal, who came into the limelight with her role of Gayatri in SAB TV’s Bhakarwadi, is currently essaying the character of ‘Ishqi’ in Sony Entertainment Television’s latest offering, a new-age young love story Ishk Par Zor Nahi.
The show revolves around two individuals ‘Ahaan’ and ‘Ishqi’ who have polarizing views on love and marriage. Based in urban Delhi, both Ahaan and Ishqi are independent and fiercely opinionated individuals.
In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Akshita spoke about her show, she said, “I am excited to be back on-screen for fans. When I heard the story of Ishk Par Zor Nahi, I was immediately attracted to it. Though it is a basic ‘opposites attract’ formula, the show has a fresh approach. I have been a fan of Gul Khan’s(producer) shows and hence wanted to work with her. The show is airing on Sony, the channel is known to bring beautiful shows, so it is a win-win for me.”
When asked about her take on marriage, Akshita averred, “My take on marriage is similar to my character Ishqi’s thoughts. I want a partner who believes in equality. As I believe, a relationship will do well only if both put in equal efforts. A girl can do whatever she wishes to post-marriage and a guy needs to understand her and support her too and vice versa. My character and I, we both want a partner who is loyal, understanding, and who loves us a lot.”
So what are her expectations from the show? “We have worked hard on the show and we want audiences to shower their love but more than that we would want that core message to get conveyed well. I would want the daily to do good, rest everything depends on destiny.”
Commenting on her bond with her team on the daily, Akshita added, “We all are like a family off-screen too. It has been a great journey with Param Singh. He is an amazing human being and a supportive co-star. He is mature and often calms me. I am lucky to have him as my co-star.”
