Known widely for his effortless charm, stellar acting prowess, and magnetic stage presence as a host, Arjun Bijlani has captured millions of hearts across television screens. Yet, stepping onto Colors TV’s reality show Dhamaal with Pati Patni Aur Panga brings a brand-new twist to his journey. For the very first time, the versatile star is opening up his real, unscripted marital dynamic to the world, trading his microphone and host persona to stand shoulder-to-shoulder as a contestant with his wife, Neha Swami Bijlani.

In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Arjun talks about the transition, the idea behind taking up the show and more.

Transitioning from a host who controls every element of the floor to a contestant taking instructions is a massive pivot. For Arjun, however, swapping the anchor’s mic for a participant’s badge has been a surprisingly refreshing change of pace. “As a host, you are used to being in control of the situation, knowing what is happening and guiding the conversation. Here, Neha and I are the ones being tested, and we have to simply trust the process and follow the instructions. But I am actually enjoying that change… It feels good to step out of my comfort zone and not worry about controlling everything.”

For years, celebrity couples have navigated the fine line between public scrutiny and private lives. For Arjun and Neha, laying bare their natural chemistry—arguments, quirks, and jokes included—is both strange and entirely liberating. “We have been married for years, so there is already a very natural understanding between us, but we also have our differences, our arguments, our jokes and our ways of dealing with situations. When the cameras are around, you cannot really manufacture that. What you see is what you get… We don’t have to pretend to be a perfect couple.”

Reality television often tests endurance, but when faced with high-stakes choices, Arjun admits that physical endurance tasks pale in comparison to mental and emotional vulnerability. “Physical challenges are something you can prepare yourself for… But when it comes to honesty, you never know what is coming your way. There could be a question that catches you completely off guard. And when you are sitting with your partner and other couples, the pressure becomes even greater.”

Unlike solo projects, a couples’ reality show requires a synchronised heart and mind. Arjun highlights how the core essence of the show relies on partnership, unpredictability, and mutual support. “The biggest difference is that this is not just about me as an individual. Every decision, every challenge and every situation involves Neha and me as a couple. We have to understand each other, support each other and sometimes even manage our differences while competing.”

When it comes to what victory truly means on Dhamaal with Pati Patni Aur Panga, Arjun’s vision isn’t just about winning a competition—it is about carving out memories and proving that a strong bond can weather any storm with a smile. “Our biggest goal is to enjoy the journey together and give it our best. Of course, we want to perform well and hopefully go as far as possible, but more than just winning, I want us to have a lot of fun and create memories together, showcasing that a strong relationship can handle both the ‘dhamaal’ and the ‘panga’ of life with grace and a lot of smiles.”
