TV actor Ayaz Ahmed, last seen in &TV show Agniphera, has just made a comeback to the tube with Colors show, Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.

He had taken a web sabbatical but is now back to his favourite hunting ground that gave him hit shows like Do Dill Ek Jaan and Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan.

Says Ayaz, “I don’t know much about my lethal negative character in Shakti as we have just started shoot. But since his agenda, that is why he has come here is unclear, it only adds to the mystery and aura.”

“Shakti is the perfect combination of hard core drama and social messaging (accepting eunuchs). If you try to tell the latter realistically, it will not work on desi tube,” says Ayaz.

He had no issues entering a unit which has been together since the past 3 years, “For Shakti is helmed by the same production house (Rashmi Sharma Telefilms) that had made my earlier show, Jai Santoshi Ma.”

“As for the cast, I was supposed to work with Kamya Punjabi in Do Dill Ek Jaan, but she opted for Bigg Boss that year. Rubina Dilaik is also very nice and friendly.”

Ask him where he sees his career right now, and he says, “I have decided to stop analyzing so much and just be happy. Have we not seen the most successful people slipping into depression, and people who have not done much be content with their lot and not committing suicide?”

Here Ayaz admits that his web detour did not work very well, “For the medium being nascent still does not pay well. Hence I decided to come back to TV as I also have liabilities and EMIs to pay. Also, I was getting to associate with the #2 show on a big channel like Colors.”

“The only reason I tried web was because I wanted to satisfy the actor within.”

“I ended up doing 2 digital projects. One is a short film for the series, I Me My Mine. Then there is Sumer Singh Diaries with Rannvijay Singh and Karishma Sharma. While the latter has some portion to be shot, the former is in post-production.”
