On the occasion of World Music Day 2026, actress Parakh Madan, who is presently seen in the role of Niyati in Star Plus’ Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bau Thi, opened up about her deep connection with music, calling it an indispensable part of her life and creativity. Sharing what music means to her, Parakh said, “Music is an essential part of my existence. It is an emotional anchor and a powerful creative catalyst.”

The actress revealed that her musical tastes are diverse and often reflect her mood or the work she is engaged in. “My playlist is a pretty vibrant mix. What I listen to usually depends on the mood of the day or what I’m working on. It varies from semi-classical to ghazals to Bollywood to pop and rock,” she shared.

When asked about songs that instantly brighten her mood, Parakh named a few personal favourites. “There are a few songs that never fail to lift my spirits. ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams, ‘Aaj Main Upar’ from Khamoshi, ‘Jigra’ from Uri, and ‘Ziddi Dil’ from Mary Kom always give me a boost of positivity and energy.”

While she enjoys multiple genres, Bollywood music remains closest to her heart. “Bollywood is my go-to genre, and the vibe I am most drawn to is soft romance because I am an eternal romantic,” she said with a smile.

Parakh admits that Bollywood music is a daily companion in her life. “Every day is Bollywood music day for me,” she said, adding that her favourite singers are Shankar Mahadevan and Sunidhi Chauhan. “I admire them because of their versatility. They can effortlessly adapt to different styles, moods, and genres.”

The actress also spoke about the nostalgic power of music and recalled a song that instantly transports her back to her childhood. “Music instantly takes me back to exact moments, scents, and emotions I’ve lived through. If there is one song that does this with an absolute rush of emotion, it is ‘Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyaar Hum’ from Hum. We were a group of five friends in school, and this was our song. We had even choreographed a performance to it, so hearing it today brings back a flood of beautiful memories.”

As for what’s currently dominating her playlist, Parakh revealed her latest obsession. “I am currently obsessed with ‘Jaiye Sajna’ from Dhurandhar by Jasmine Sandlas and Satinder Sartaaj. I can’t seem to stop listening to it.”
