Colors TV‘s latest offering, Bareilly Ke Bacchan, looks like it’s set to be a delightful family entertainer! Produced by Aarooshee Sood under the banner of Aura Pictures, the show’s initial glimpse promises a joyful viewing experience for everyone, ensuring entertainment for audiences of all ages.

This all-male, dysfunctional premise brings to mind the classic film Satte Pe Satta, starring Amitabh Bachchan. We’ve also witnessed a similar setup in the TV show Saas Bina Sasural. However, Bareilly Ke Bacchan is a show we just cannot ignore for many reasons!!

The Bacchan family resides in a dilapidated ancestral home in Bareilly. At the helm of the family is Ajab Singh, the carefree father whose battle with alcoholism often clouds his love and judgment. Ganga, the eldest son, is gentle and nurturing, embodying the role of the family caregiver. Krishna Bacchan, the driver, is a lively optimist and a daydreamer, filled with hopes of marrying the girl he loves. Satluj, the fiery young man of the household, struggles with his frustration over the absence of a female in the house. Meanwhile, Mahi, the youngest sibling, represents the typical Gen-Z; he has a knack for keeping the family connected despite their challenges.

On the other hand, we have Sangam, who comes from a very different family background. She is a well-educated, ambitious young woman with a clear vision for her studies and career. However, her affluent family holds onto traditional values, insisting that she marry soon after graduation. Sangam is completely unprepared for the shock her family delivers when they present her with a suitor. Sangam’s family—her father and mother—dream of seeing her married into a prosperous family. Her brother, who is married, shares and supports their beliefs. While Sangam finds support in her sister-in-law, Hema, who understands her preferences and wishes, Hema feels powerless to go against the family’s wishes.

The essence of the Bacchan household truly captures the genuine, small-town charm of Bareilly. The overall vibe, tone, and aesthetic are ‘Lallantop’, if we can say it using the slang adapted in the show. The dialogues are lively and enjoyable, often delivered at a brisk pace, which adds to the delightful chaos and humour throughout. The apt selection of soundtracks to depict the romance of Krishna and Sangam blends well with the narrative.

The show will certainly be remembered for its well-chosen ensemble cast! Pravisht Mishra, embodying the ‘Bol Bacchan’ persona, brings a vibrant energy to the role. His expressive body language captures the local flavour, and he effortlessly combines humour with palpable aggression and romance, providing a perfect mix of all emotions.

Yashpal Sharma has all the experience to carry the role of Ajab Singh. His timing on screen is spot-on, and he excels at delivering some of the show’s funniest and most quick-witted exchanges.

Kinshuk Mahajan, serving as the kitchen anchor of the house, embodies warmth, tenderness, and love in his character, which he expresses to perfection.

Ansh Manuja as Satluj and Sachin Jeet Singh as Mahi bring a strong emotional depth to their roles, perfectly rounding out the family dynamic.

Ramneek Kataria stands out as a compelling actor who has a clear grasp of her strengths. Her powerful performance has been evident in the promos, and she continues to shine just as brightly in the episodes.

Govind Pandey and Anita Kulkarni excel in their roles, delivering strong performances. Aakash Sahay and Radhika Chhabra make a significant impact.

While Bareilly Ke Bacchan may not break new ground in terms of its storyline, it stands out for its solid execution, a talented ensemble cast, and powerful performances. This show is bound to lift your spirits, delivering top-quality entertainment and humour that will keep you laughing. It promises to be a ‘paisa-vasool’ experience you definitely won’t want to pass up!

We at IWMBuzz.com give 4 out of 5 stars to Bareilly Ke Bacchan.
