Rabb Se Hai Dua the newly launched Zee TV show produced by Prateek Sharma’s LSD Films can be regarded as a unique plot that can add variety to the existing programming lineup on the channel. Muslim backdrop shows have always worked wonders for Zee TV, the previous example being Qubool Hai. Rabb Se Hai Dua deals with the sensitive issue of polygamy being practised in Islam religion, and how the lady gets subjected to problems owing to the second marriage of the husband.

The show has a very interesting cast. Karanvir Sharma plays Haider, Aditi Sharma plays the wife Dua and Richa Rathore plays the prospective ‘second wife’ Gazal. The three prime actors in the show do full justice to the characters. From looking the perfect Islamic characters to imbibing the Islam culture in the dialogue delivery to execution, Karanvir, Aditi and Richa are doing a good job.

The concept of the show is endearing to watch. We are introduced to the Akhtar family where the head of the house, Rahat Akhtar has two wives and has embraced polygamy. However, this is one aspect that the son Haider hates. He shows utter disrespect towards his father for marrying again and leaving his mother to just be another woman in the house for so many years. This brings about the intrigue as to why a man like Haider marries again, especially when he showers all his love towards his wife Dua.

The narrative is strong and the story has been gripping and interesting over the first week. From Dua’s kidnapping to Gazal creating problem situations time and again between Haider and Dua, the plots have been well-executed. However, what strikes hard are the affirmative dialogues that are told time and again about Gazal being an impending danger and the girl to come in between Haider and Dua’s pure love. From the prime characters to even the support cast, everyone has been given dialogues to emphasise this future aberration that is to come. This gets a bit too much to handle, especially when we know the main crux of the story via the promos that have already been on air.

Coming to the performance, Karanvir, Aditi and Richa are so much into their characters. Actors like Sandeep Rajora, Nishigandha Wad, Sheela Sharma, Melanie Nazareth have important roles to play. Ankit Raizada has been one good addition to watch in the show. As Ruhaan, he casts a magical spell.

The chemistry of Haider and Dua is very pleasing to watch. The makers have already added the element of gratitude that the Akhtar family has towards Gazal’s family, that of Gazal’s father having saved the life of Haider when he was young. Probably this is what forces Haider to go on to marry Gazal, is what we understand as of now. Well, this is just a wild guess as of now!

But the intrigue over how Haider can dare to get a ‘doosri aurat’ home even after seeing the plight that his mother has undergone, and the amount of love he showers on Dua, is what keeps the viewers glued to the show as of now. We hope that the future drama in the story stays relatable and justified. So far, the show has started on a decent note!!

We credit Rabb Se Hai Dua with 3 stars out of 5.
