Zee TV, the popular GEC, introduced the story of a new girl named Diya with their fresh show Rishton Ka Manjha, produced by Tent Cinema. The show is said to be a fresh burst of positivity via its optimistic lead protagonist with a ‘never say die’ attitude, Diya.
Rishton Ka Manjha explores the intense love story of Diya and Arjun who, despite being players of the same sport, share very contrasting outlooks towards life. Based in Kolkata, the show revolves around Diya, (Aanchal Goswami) – a bright and chirpy middle-class Bengali girl who hopes to build a meaningful life for herself and support her middle-class family. No matter what curveball comes her way, she stays afloat saying “Kuch toh tod nikaal hi lenge”.
On the other hand, Arjun (Krushal Ahuja), is a former Badminton champ who comes from an affluent Marwari business family. He has given up on life after a scandal jeopardizes his career and even his near and dear ones don’t support him through his most testing times.
The first glimpse of the leads Krushal Ahuja and Aanchal Goswami was not impressive. While Krushal made his Hindi TV debut with the show, Aanchal has been part of few TV shows in the past. The two actors tried hard to grab attention via their acting skills but failed to do so. Also, the duo does not complement each other as a couple. Their characters are relatable so we hope they get accepted by fans in this new journey.
The costumes and show setup are apt as per the theme. Overall, the show has failed to amaze us. From the dialogues to acting, everything failed to capture our attention. However, the love story of the couple is yet to begin so it will be too early to judge its final impact. We have to wait and watch how Diya’s optimism ensures to bring change in the hero Arjun’s life and his approach.
Overall, we hope the makers up the game and impress the audiences. We, at IWMBuzz, would rate it 2/5.
