Pandya Store the newest Star Plus presentation continues with the trend of the channel following the regional adapts.

Pandya Store is inspired by the extremely popular Star Vijay Tamil show Pandian Stores.

Produced by the renowned production house Sphere Origin, we have to say that Pandya Store has started on a very impressive note.

Considering that there are more viewers for the earthy, deep-rooted stories under the joint family system (Anupamaa, Imlie, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin), Pandya Store gets the added bonus of being received well.

Pandya Store has Kinshuk Mahajan and Shiny Doshi playing the lead roles. The show has a good mix of seniors and freshers in its cast. Senior actors Krutika Desai, Pallavi Rao, Krunal Pandit, Mohit Sharma are part of the main cast.

For the Pandya family, their general store Pandya Store means everything. After the sudden demise of his father Darshan Pandya, son Gautam Pandya (Kinshuk Mahajan) has to deal with the sudden closure of the shop coupled with his mother getting bed-ridden. However, Gautam’s will power pushes him to re-open the shop with a belief that he can fulfill his father’s dream of having many branches of Pandya Store and running the firm successfully.

Gautam is a very simple man who is well-educated to take up any kind of job. However, all that matters to him after his father’s death is to live his father’s dream of nurturing the business of Pandya Store. Gautam has a huge responsibility on his shoulders of taking care of his ill mother and his three kid brothers Shiva, Dev and Krish.

Even when Gautam does not want to take up another responsibility that comes through his marriage, he is thrown into a situation where he has to wed his girl Anita (Shrashti Maheshwari). Anita who appears to be all concerned for Gautam and his family, eyes only the Pandya Store and wants to be the sole owner of the huge store.

Prafulla (Pallavi Rao) who is the Mami of Gautam has her evil eyes fully set on Pandya Store. She is in fact the mastermind behind Anita marrying Gautam. She has a deal with Anita, and wants to take charge of Pandya Store once the wedding happens.

Gautam’s world comes crashing down when he gets to know that the store he is very proud to own, is actually mortgaged, and he is in fact facing a race against time to save it. With marriage to happen, Gautam is hit with the dilemma of whether or not to tell Anita the truth.

Dhara is a girl who is dealing with her tarnished family image. She along with her brother is looked down upon by people around, owing to the unimpressive character of her mother. However, Dhara and her brother Hardik are good friends of Gautam and have been the support system of each other.

This has been the crux of the story that we have seen in its first week of airing. We must say, we are really impressed with the way the story is panning out.

Pandya Store has all the ingredients in it to be successful. It is a simple family entertainer with the essence of family values backing it up.

The show also gets back Kinshuk Mahajan as the lead. Kinshuk looks his best and is playing a role, that is probably tailor-made for him. Shiny Doshi as Dhara is providing the right kind of impact on the audience. The Jodi of Kinshuk and Shiny look really good, though they are not paired together in the show yet.

The lifeline of the show as of now, are the kids. Child artists Jovian Fernandes, Swaranim Neema, Harminder Singh who play the roles of Dev, Krish and Shiva respectively indeed pack a punch. Kinshuk’s sibling bond with the three kids looks amazing. Shiny’s scenes too with the kids are coming out well.

Going by the characteristics seen of the kids, though all the three of them respect and adore their elder brother a lot, there is a huge behavioral difference between them. While Shiva is the aggressive, no-nonsense person, Dev is more watchful and thoughtful. Krish seems to be the very innocent one. The three kids need a special mention for their amazing portrayal in their roles.

Pallavi Rao who earlier played the ruthless negative in Kulfi Kumar Bajewala is back in action as Prafulla here. She is amazing in her role, delivering the right expressions. Krutika Desai who is a class performer is sidelined at the moment, being the ill mother. We hope to see her in action soon.

Shrashti Maheshwari is also doing a good job as Anita.

The cinematography is sound and gripping. The story is going through at a good pace. There is a good combination of lighter moments as well as emotional ones to keep the audience’s attention intact.

Overall, Pandya Store should do well and rate well. The only problem zone appears to be the late-night slot (11 PM), which is usually slotted for the thriller centric shows on TV. Having said this, it will be remarkable if the show’s simplicity can grab and sustain a strong audience base. Word of mouth will help in the success of Pandya Store.

Sphere Origins, makers of well-known shows like Balika Vadhu will certainly know what it takes to make a winner.

Overall, we at IWMBuzz.com rate Pandya Store with 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.
