The ratings for the first week of 2026 are released today. The year looks promising, with many shows performing well on the ratings chart. The BARC India Ratings released today, 8 January 2026, look like this!! Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Star Plus), which took over from Anupamaa, as the No. 1 show across GECs in the last week of 2025, is rock solid, taking the No. 1 spot again in the first week of 2026. Naagin 7 (Colors TV), has had an emphatic launch and records a huge opening rating, getting a TVR of 2.1, and taking the No 2 spot. Anupamaa (Star Plus) also gets a TVR of 2.1. Udne Ki Aasha (Star Plus) gets a TVR of 1.9 and 1.7, respectively, in the one-hour slots it occupies. Zee TV’s Tumm Se Tumm Tak is also rock-solid and gets a TVR of 1.9. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Star Plus) maintains the increase shown last week and takes a TVR of 1.8. Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment S3 (Colors) and Sony SAB’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah also get a TVR of 1.8.
Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan and Vasudha (Zee TV), are the next with a TVR of 1.7. Zee TV’s Jagadhatri, Star Plus’ Aarti Anjali Awasthi and Colors TV’s Mannat Har Khushi Paane Ki, get a TVR of 1.4. Colors TV’s Tu Juliet Jatt Di gets a TVR of 1.3. Zee TV’s Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, Colors TV’s Mangal Lakshmi and Mangal Lakshmi – Lakshmi Ka Safar and Star Plus’ Jhanak get a TVR of 1.2. Zee TV’s Saru and Star Plus’ Shehzaadi Hai Tu Dil Ki get a TVR of 1.1.
Binddii – Dil Se Daring and Seher Hone Ko Hai (Colors TV) have a TVR of 1.0 along with Zee TV’s Jagriti.
Overall, the New Year of 2026 has opened up with enthusiasm and hope. Naagin 7, the last launch of 2025, opens immensely well, and the show garners huge appreciation and hope ahead. Good start for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi at the top. Anupamaa is quite close, and the competition continues. The Zee TV shows continue to edge ahead and do well. Tu Juliet Jatt Di, Mannat Har Khushi Paane Ki, Aarti Anjali Awasthi are doing quite well. Mangal Lakshmi, Mangal Lakshmi – Lakshmi Ka Safar, Binddii, Shehzaadi Hai Tu Dil Ki, and Saru need to perform better.
