TV actors making a Bollywood debut is very common. However, in the last few years, we have seen big Bollywood stars appearing as main characters or the hosts of fictional and reality TV shows. A lot of big Bollywood celebrities kick-started their acting on the big screens but they have also explored TV shows. Having said that, these B-town biggies failed to entertain the TV audiences. Today, we bring list of Bollywood actors who failed to interest their fans in their respective TV shows.

Amitabh Bachchan: Big B’s debut serial Yudh had received a lukewarm response and not many people were following the show when it was launched. Although along with Amitabh, the show was full of seasoned actors like Sarika, Kay Kay Menon, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Tigmanshu Dhulia, owing to the bad storytelling, their acting skills got sidelined. The slow screenplay and extremely sloppy direction were blamed for the failure of the show.

Zayed Khan: The talented actor entered the telly world with the show ‘Haasil’. The romantic thriller also featured Vatsal Sheth and Nikita Dutta. During his Bollywood days, Zayed Khan featured in a number of films, but only tasted success with the multi-starrer ‘Main Hoon Na’. While he might have entertained the big screen audiences, with his TV show he failed to click with both the critics as well as the audiences.

Amrita Rao: The popular actress, who is known for her role Poonam in the movie Vivaah, appeared on TV after a long absence from films. She made her debut with &TV show Meri Awaz Hi Pehchaan Hai but the show failed to attract interest from the audiences.

Anil Kapoor: Anil’s much-hyped show 24, which boasted of a stellar cast Sakshi Tanwar, Surveen Chawla, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sikander Kher, Harsh Chhaya and Anita Raj, among others failed to entertain the masses. The slow pace of this show was a total let down. Even the charisma of Anil couldn’t save the magnum opus.

Amruta Puri, Satyadeep Misra, Purab Kohli, Sandhya Mridul: Nikhil Advani’s P.O.W. – Bandi Yuddh Ke was adapted from Israeli TV show Hatufim but failed to rake in TRPs. The show had a great cast that included names like Sandhya Mridul, Satyadeep Misra, Purab Kohli, and Amrita Puri. Despite having a good cast and tight script, it failed to strike a chord with the viewers.

Sanjay Kapoor: The actor made his film debut with Prem opposite Tabu, which tanked at the box office. Post Prem, he appeared in more than 25 films but none of them impressed the viewers. Sanjay made a comeback on TV with Vikram Bhatt’s Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara. However, he failed to interest fans on TV too and the show was a flop.

Jaya Prada: The beauty is hailed as one of the most iconic, influential, and highest-paid actresses in both Telugu and Hindi film industries in the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s. Post her successful Bollywood career, Jaya made her TV debut with &TV show ‘Perfect Pati’, a show that portrayed a mother and her role as a mother-in-law in a strong positive light. Though her character was strong, the weak storyline failed to hook audiences.
