Actress Chetna Pande earlier shared that the six months leading up to the release of her film Haunted 3D were the darkest of her life because her mother fell seriously ill and was hospitalized. The Khatron Ke Khiladi fame actress posted a heartfelt note on Instagram detailing the family’s tough phase and a looming medical battle.
On September 23, 2026, Chetna uploaded a big note updating fans on her mother’s health with the caption, “She will need a lot of strength, love, and prayers during this difficult journey. Please keep my mother in your prayers. We are holding on to hope and believing that she will get through this.”
The actress opened up about her mother’s battle with liver cirrhosis, “Update on My Mommy’s Health. My mother has been fighting a serious liver condition called liver cirrhosis for the past year.”
Explaining about the disease, she said, “Cirrhosis is a condition in which the liver becomes severely scarred and gradually loses its ability to function properly.”
Opening up about the recovery, Chetna shared, “She is doing much better today than the day she was brought to the hospital-unconscious, suffering from acute kidney injury, and with very little hope for survival. But today, we are hopeful again.”
Reflecting on the new battle and six-month survival chance, she said, “However, this fight is getting tougher. The doctors have given us a maximum of six months of survival with her current liver. At this point, the only option we have is a liver transplant. It is a very complicated and major surgery, but since it is the only hope we have, we as a family have decided to take that chance.”
Lastly, requesting prayers and blessings, Chetna said, “She will need a lot of strength, love, and prayers during this difficult journey. Please keep my mother in your prayers. We are holding on to hope and believing that she will get through this.”
