Court rules against Meenakshi Sagar on non-payment case

CINTAA vs Meenakshi Sagar row: Court rules against Meenakshi?

It’s an old duel and it continues to breathe fire.

Noted TV producer Meenakshi Sagar was accused by multiple actors for non-payment of dues for working in her Zee TV show Jamai Raja.

After much pulling and pushing, the conflict took an ugly return when Meenakshi sent a legal complaint against CINTAA member, accusing them of bullying her by taking side of the actors, says a source.

“Meenakshi named CINTAA member Sushant Singh, Amit Behl and Vikram Gokhale in the complaint letter. Thus, the matter went to court. After rounds of hearing, the first judgement has come against Meenakshi,” adds a source.

Meenakshi, as per a post shared by CINTAA, has been accused for cheating and fraud. The order was announced at Court no 60 at Andheri, Mumbai.

Says Rizwan Siddique, representing Producing Meenakshi Sagar: “It is indeed shocking to note that CINTAA is malafidely and mischievously trying to do a trial by media and portray my client as guilty before the general public. Whereas the fact remains that till date my client is not even summoned in the said matter by the Learned Magistrate. Nonetheless, even if she is summoned and if the process is issued by the Learned Magistrate then the same shall duly challenged by us in Revision because even the Hon’ble Supreme Court has clearly held in plethora of judgments that money recovery suits cannot be termed as cheating.”

Next big hearing is expected on 20th February, 2019.

To get more information on the matter, we buzzed CINTAA spokesperson and producer Meenakshi Sagar, but none reverted till the time of putting the article to bed.
