Dilip Joshi is a well-known and one of the most loved characters, Jethalal, from Sony SAB’s popular comedy sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. As he continues to entertain as Jethalal, recent reports have sparked curiosity and tension among fans, with the latest buzz suggesting that the makers of the show are planning to reduce Jethalal’s screen time. However, in an exclusive interview with IWMBuzz, the actor himself addressed the viral claims, revealing the truth behind them.
Reacting to the buzz around his screen time being cut in TMKOC, Dilip said, “Har chiz ka jaise ki ek faida bhi hai aur be faida bhi, abhi social media har jagah hai to kuch logo ka social media kamane ka jariya bhi ho gaya hai. To abhi eyeballs grab kerne ke liye, views kamane ke liye log kuch bhi utpatang kuch bhi mangadhan kahaniyan aise publish ker deti hai. (As everything comes with advantages and disadvantages, now social media is everywhere; for some people, social media is the way they earn. So to grab eyeballs and to get views, people put anything irrelevant and fabricated stories they publish).”
He further added, “Par dukh ke baat ye lagti hai ki jab renowned jo apne media houses hai vo log bina jach kiye, bina padtal kiye, production house se bhi, ap puche ki bhai ye fake news hai ya sach hi hai. Bina jane vo bhi bas jaise race me reh gaye. Jaise hum nhi chapenge to pata nahi jaise doctor humko hospital me admit ker dega, ICU me admit ker dega. (What is the saddest part is that when renowned media houses also publish without fact-checking, they should ask the production house once if it’s true or not. It feels like if they won’t publish, then the doctor will admit them, put them in ICU.)”
Recently, reports surfaced that Dilip Joshi, who plays Jethalal, is likely to have his screen time reduced, and the focus will shift to the new Rajasthani introduced earlier in the show.
