Actor Ishwar Thakur, known for his appearances in comedy TV shows like ‘F.I.R.’ and ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain ‘, is currently in critical condition. Reportedly, the actor has been admitted to the hospital in Thane, Maharashtra, with issues related to a kidney ailment, because of which he is in the ICU.
Ishwar’s sister, Jayshree, opened up to Hindustan Times about his deteriorating health. She revealed that his complications trace back to 2020, when he suffered a foot wound three months before the first COVID-19 lockdown: “Ishwar is my elder brother. It all started with a wound in the foot in 2020, three months before the COVID lockdown.”
Jayshree emphasized that since Ishwar has diabetes, his wound did not really heal, which has now landed him in trouble: “He’s diabetic, so the wound didn’t heal, and now the infection has spread throughout his body. Two-three days back, his condition deteriorated and we rushed him to the hospital. He’s been unresponsive ever since. We have spent whatever we had on his care but now we aren’t being able to do more. Hence, we need help.”
Addressing previous assistance from the television industry, Jayshree noted, “The makers of his shows FIR and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! helped us as much as they could. His co-stars too stepped in. Kavita Kaushik ji also put out an appeal for help, and it’s because of all this that we could afford the treatment… until now.”
However, with medical bills rising rapidly, the family’s financial resources have completely dried up. On September 23, 2026, Jayshree took to Ishwar’s official Instagram handle to issue an urgent public plea for crowdfunding: “A Humble Appeal for Help. I am Jayshree, the sister of Ishwar Thakur. My brother’s health is currently in a very serious condition, and I am making a humble appeal to you for help.”
Revealing Ishwar’s health complications, she said, “What happened? My brother has developed a severe kidney infection. An infection caused by a wound on his leg has spread throughout his body.”
Further, Jayshree said, “We have spent all our savings on his treatment so far, to the best of our ability. However, we are now in urgent need of financial assistance to cover the costs of hospitalisation, medicines, tests and other medical expenses. It has become extremely difficult for us to bear these mounting expenses on our own. I humbly request you to please support us financially, if possible. Even a small contribution from you would mean a great deal to us during this difficult time. Please try to help us at the earliest, to the extent possible.”
This marks Ishwar’s 9th hospital admission, and reportedly his family previously had to sell their home to sustain his ongoing multi-year medical battles.
Ishwar is 54 years old and unmarried, survived by his mother and younger sister.
