Bigg Boss 19 fame stand-up comedian Pranit More has been in the headlines lately after a clip from his latest stand-up show went viral, in which a man reportedly named Himanshu Jangra made a remark about the “Rs 370 Biryani”. His statement regarding one of his dates with a girl created controversy with his demeaning comments over how he wished to seek sexual favors from the girl in return for treating her with a rupees 370 biryani.
Not just the person saying those demeaning comments, but also the stand-up comedian Pranit More, has been in the talks with netizens, calling him out for not taking a stand against such nonsense.
However, the man, Himanshu, is a worker at a design company in Gurgaon, Haryana. As soon as his company discovered the incident, they fired him.
In the viral video online, Himanshu’s employer clarified that an internal meeting was held and that this matter was discussed with the female staff, who questioned his behavior. However, no complaints were received from the office, and though whatever Himanshu said happened outside the office, the company is still facing the consequences of the controversy, and so they have decided to part ways with Himanshu.
In the caption, the employer wrote, “We have fired Himanshu. Mistakes have consequences.
But we also hope they become opportunities for reflection, learning, and positive change.
After carefully reviewing the situation, we have taken a decision and wanted to address it openly.
This is our response.”
Recently, Pranit More also apologized and acknowledged the matter, promising to take action against such statements rather than taking it lightly. He said, “I’ve seen the criticism regarding a recent crowdwork clip.
The comments made by the audience member do not reflect my views. Looking back, I should have challenged the remark instead of laughing and moving on. That was a lapse in judgement on my part.
Live crowdwork often involves reacting in real time, but ththat’sot an excuse. I take the feedback seriously and will be more thoughtful in how I handle similar situations going forward.
We’We’veso removed the video from all our platforms, as I dondon’tnt to amplify or normalize those views.
I appreciate everyone who raised their concerns respectfully. I sincerely apologize for whatever happened, and I’llI’lle this lesson forward. I’m I’man, and like anyone else, I’m I’mstantly learning. Being called out when I get something wrong doesdoesn’te me smaller but it helps me grow. I accept that I could have handled this better and I’llI’llmore mindful that I never unintentionally support or normalize such views in the future.”
