During the conversation, the actress opened up about her bond with global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas and shared hilarious childhood misadventures.
How Priyanka Chopra Welcomed Her at Cannes
Recalling her milestone debut at the Cannes Film Festival, Hina shared how deeply touched she was by Priyanka Chopra’s hospitality. Hina mentioned the buzz around her Cannes debut and admitted she never expected a global superstar like Priyanka to know she was in town, let alone invite her over to her place, noting that the Desi Girl still stays in regular contact with her.
Hina also shared a key experience: Priyanka held her hand supportively throughout the party abroad, introducing her to international delegates. Both Hina and host Sania Mirza agreed that Priyanka remains one of the warmest, most grounded personalities.
Hina’s Childhood Adventures
Hina called herself a very naughty child. She recounted an incident from when she was around 7 or 8 years old and decided to try cooking for herself while her mother was away from the kitchen. She revealed she kept a plastic bowl on the gas, and as soon as it started melting, she ran out of the house rather than telling anyone or asking for help.
Hina revealed it was very common for her to leave the house when she was young; whenever she made a mistake, she would run. The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress highlighted that habit of running away after making mistakes. She mentioned her mother used to beat her a lot.
She shared that at her village police station, people knew Hina had run away again, and they would catch her and keep her until her mother and father came to take her.
