Star Plus’ long-running popular show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut, is gearing up for significant changes as it prepares to take a two-year time leap. Addressing the buzz surrounding the upcoming narrative shift, producer Rajan Shahi exclusively spoke to IWMBuzz.com to clarify what lies ahead for the show and its popular lead pair.
Confirming the major overhaul, Rajan shared details about the show’s evolving direction while emphasising the introduction of fresh storylines. “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is going to have a big revamp. But it is too premature for me to talk about it. Love stories are going to come into the fore.”
Despite new tracks and characters being introduced, the Producer firmly dismissed any speculation regarding a change in the lead cast, heaping praise on actors Rohit Purohit and Samridhii Shukla for their performances. “Armaan and Abhira will always stay in Yeh Rishta. There will never be any replacement for Armaan and Abhira, at least this year. For me, Armaan and Abhira are the best Jodi in Indian television. Rohit and Samridhii are doing excellently well. I will never want to replace them. I am happy with their journey. They are brilliant as actors and individuals.”
While fans can expect fresh faces and new dynamics to enter the storyline after the two-year leap, the central focus of the narrative will remain intact. “Love stories will happen around them. But Armaan and Abhira will always be the focus. There will be new characters coming in, but the leads will hold their ground,” he reassured.
Earlier in the day, IWMBuzz.com carried an exclusive conversation with Producer Rajan Shahi refuting the rumours of Mohsin Khan’s entry in Anupamaa. He told us that he would plan a new show with Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi at the right time. If you have missed reading this story, you can read our exclusive here.
With the producer’s official confirmation, fans of the show can rest assured that while new dramatic arcs and romance will unfold following the leap, Armaan and Abhira will continue to anchor the story.
