Ruslaan Mumtaz to don his first ‘desi’ avatar in & TV’s Laal Ishq

Ruslaan Mumtaz, the chocolate boy of TV will don his first ‘desi’ avatar in &TV’s Laal Ishq, the episodic format of love stories with a paranormal twist.

The actor will be paired opposite Tu Sooraj Main Sanjh Piyaji fame Rhea Sharma.

Earlier, Jay Soni was supposed to play this part, but there has been a change in the plan, with Ruslaan being roped in to play the typical Banarasi character.

As per a reliable source, “Ruslaan will be play a never-seen-before avatar, that of a very serious Bihari guy, with a macho physique.”

This episodic tale will be produced by Sachin Mohite’s Jaasvand Entertainments. The production house recently gave the big hit on the web space with Gandii Baat on ALTBalaji.

When contacted, Ruslaan confirmed the news to IWMBuzz.com saying, “Yes, I have never donned a desi avatar before. I am a big fan of the movie Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya; Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan were so convincing in their roles. Playing a Banarasi guy is a challenge for me, and I am enjoying it.”

In addition to Laal Ishq, Ruslaan will also be seen in Vikram Bhatt’s upcoming web-series, Zakhmi.
