Writers’ Galaxy, helmed by Anirudh Pathak will soon come up with the magnum opus historical saga Mughal-E-Azam for Colors. The production house is presently enthralling audiences with the fabulously captured tales of Prithvi Vallabh (Sony TV) and Chandra Shekhar Azad (Star Bharat).

IWMBuzz.com has heard of versatile senior actor Shahbaz Khan being part of the show.

Yes, you heard it right!!

Shahbaz who has played lot many memorable characters in his vast career in both films and TV has been roped in to play the role of King Akbar.

A credible source states, “Though actors like Nawab Shah, Ashutosh Rana and Alyy Khan were in contention for the prized role, it is Shahbaz Khan who will go on to play King Akbar in the series.”

As per media reports, popular actor Shaheer Sheikh will play the role of Salim. The hunt for Anarkali continues with many noted actors from the TV space being considered.

We buzzed Producer Anirudh Pathak and the channel spokesperson, but did not get through for a comment.

As for Shahbaz, his noteworthy shows on TV include Grihasti, Maharana Pratap, Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke, Chandrakantha, Afsar Bitiya and many more.
