Star Plus pushes for premium content with mini-series launch

Star Plus, the renowned GEC, never shies away from experimenting. The channel has worked on the return of yesteryear popular shows and has also built on the strong base of the supernatural genre and its popularity.

The channel had earlier kick-started a trend with the finite series programming.

Now, news coming in is that Star Plus will go premium and will come up with out-of-the-box concepts with mini-series which will be of 26 episodes each.

As per a reliable source, “The idea is to compete directly with the high premium quality content available on popular digital platforms. Star Plus has reached out to multiple producers for the mini-series concepts, and has already started commissioning few concepts.”

We further learn that it is an innovative attempt to lure the ever-growing internet audience.

We buzzed Gaurav Banerjee, President, Hindi Entertainment, Star India to seek a comment but he did not revert till the time of putting the article to bed.

Are you all excited to watch Star Plus going premium in its content offering?
