Yes, there were reports of Amar Upadhyay being roped in to replace Manav Gohil to play the part.

“The character took a backseat post leap sequence. Manav was approached to play the part again but he already had other commitments. Finally, the search for a replacement has ended with Tarun Khanna.”
Tarun has been part of shows like Devon Ke Dev Mahadev.
We sent a message to him seeking confirmation but he did not reply till the time of filing the story.
