Wheel of Fortune India lands. Akshay Kumar to host the show, after his long hiatus from hosting since Khatron Ke Khiladi. The show will air on Sony Entertainment Television and shall stream on Sony LIV. The official announcement came with a comic promo, featuring Akshay Kumar. The show is slated to hit the screens in early 2026. The core format remains identical: contestants spin a giant wheel and solve word puzzles for cash and prizes; however, it shall be primarily based on the Indian context.

The promo, to which the tagline has been attached, reads: “Ab matter karega har ek akshar, jab ghumega jaadu ka chakkar.” The basic premise focuses on a servant being the legitimate heir to a vast property. The promo begins with an announcement of an inheritance worth crores, including jewels and other assets. The biological heir, ‘Ram’, is waiting impatiently, thinking that the luck will be on his side—but alas, things turned into unexpected ways soon after the declaration.

Turning the case back, it is revealed that ‘Ramu’ (the servant, portrayed by Akshay Kumar) is, in fact, the lucky heir. The drama unfolds when Ramu, serving tea to the deceased lord, observes him writing the will. The man of property first bequeaths his whole estate to Ram, the heir. But Ramu cleverly turns the ‘उ’ of Ram into Ramu and thus takes the whole estate master stroke.
