Producer Rajan Shahi talks about Director’s Kut’s new launch Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2.

Rajan Shahi’s banner Director’s Kut has had a successful year with 2020 giving them a huge hit in the form of Anupamaa. With the show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai managing to have a stronghold on the audiences’ interests, the year 2021 is sure to give the production all the resounding success.

Adding to its lineup, Director’s Kut will soon launch Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2 on Star Bharat. The show will have Pearl Grey as Creative Producer, Writer and Show Runner.

Says Rajan Shahi on Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2’s launch, “We will be collaborating with Pearl Grey who will be in the capacity of Writer, Creative Producer and Show Runner. When Pearl narrated the entire script and vision of the show, I was very excited and happy about it. There is a strong association with the Star network. The concept has a very strong family connect and characterizations are simply amazing. This will be the first launch of Director’s Kut in 2021. So I was very careful about moving ahead. However, I felt that Pratigya 2 has the right ingredients of entertainment and a strong message to deliver.”

“We have always been proud of the characters we have presented in DKP. So this will be another strong addition to our kitty.”

Ask Rajan if, after Pratigya 2, the thought of his very successful show Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai getting a new season will happen, and he is quick to say, “Honestly, I have not got the confidence yet to launch Bidaai 2. I have not got a script that has appealed to me. Yes, the script of Pratigya 2 is really wonderful. There has to be a conviction behind every launch. So let us see when that happens.”

Getting back to Pratigya 2, Rajan avers, “I met the entire cast of Pratigya 1 and understood that most of the actors are even today very much committed to the show. They are enthusiastic about the new season. Pratigya is a brand and I am happy to be taking it ahead. Earlier too, I used to watch the show Pratigya and have even given feedbacks to Pearl.”

Ask him whether the protagonists Pooja Gor and Arhaan Behll will make way for a new set of cast once the show has been established, and Rajan rubbishes the news saying, “Not at all. If that was the case, I would not be making such a big set for Sajjan Singh family. I would not be investing so heavily in the construction of a huge set. Yes, the fresh relevance of Pratigya 2 will be to retain what has worked in favor of the show, and also adding a fresh set of characters to it. Things will be added and nothing would be subtracted from the show. These are all rumors which should not be believed. We have a strong and interesting story in mind.”

“Pearl and our team are working really hard to reestablish Krishna and Sajjan Singh’s family in a strong manner. The show will have a very good ensemble cast for sure. We are very excited about this launch. Making a Season 2 needs a lot of thinking, considering that there will be a lot of expectations and comparisons. Also, we enjoy the responsibility of taking forward the legacy of Pratigya 1.”

On the association with Pearl, Rajan states, “It is very nice to be associating with her. She comes with a lot of conviction in the script. This is a kind of script that would not see myself associating with. So this really interested me towards the show.”
