Pushpa Impossible recently celebrated 1000 episodes. How do you keep the story unique and relatable while avoiding the usual TV tropes?
From day one, Pushpa Impossible was meant to be different — a mother who isn’t idealised but real. Our tagline said it perfectly: “Yeh maa wo nahi hai.” A 40-year-old woman going back to school is rare yet deeply relatable. Every mother dreams of growing and learning, and that’s what Pushpa represents. We keep our characters rooted in real life, adding drama only where it feels natural. The goal is always authenticity over exaggeration.
How do you address social issues in the show without sounding preachy?
Pushpa’s world mirrors real middle-class families who face everyday challenges. The difference is — she doesn’t just talk; she acts. That’s what makes her inspiring. Our simple mantra is to stay honest to the story and character. When storytelling comes from truth, it automatically connects. If something doesn’t work, the audience tells us, and we take note. Our focus is to keep the show inspiring, relatable, and engaging without being heavy-handed.
As long as we tell honest, heartfelt stories, television will continue to hold its audience.
What led to the recent seven-year leap in Pushpa Impossible?
We reached a point where some storylines had completed their arc, and we needed something new. Pushpa had finished college, and the next natural step was for her to study law — something that had always helped her fight for what’s right. Becoming a lawyer takes years, so a seven-year leap felt realistic. We planned every character’s growth carefully, updated the look and feel of the show, and added new characters for freshness. The transition has been well-received, which makes us very happy.

How do you measure the popularity of a show like Pushpa Impossible?
We look at popularity in a very holistic and heartfelt way. For us, it’s reflected in the love we receive from viewers, the conversations they spark, the impact the characters create and the way families connect with the show every day. When people tell us Pushpa feels like someone they know, or that the story mirrors their own lives, that is the highest measure of success. Awards, appreciation, and engagement are wonderful validations, but the true indicator is the bond the audience has built with Pushpa and her world. Their affection is our biggest achievement and our greatest motivation.
With OTT and digital platforms booming, how do you see the future of television?
The competition is tough, but television still has its own space. The challenge for us creators is to keep stories fresh, unpredictable, and emotional. Viewers today are sharp — if they can guess what’s coming next, they’ll move on. OTT gives variety, but TV offers emotional comfort. As long as we tell honest, heartfelt stories, television will continue to hold its audience.
Do you take audience feedback into account when shaping new story arcs?
Absolutely, audience feedback has always been an integral part of our storytelling process. Their reactions, their love, and even their concerns help us understand what’s touching their hearts. That said, we also ensure that the essence of the show and its long-term narrative arc remain intact. Viewer feedback guides us, inspires us, and sometimes even surprises us, but it is always balanced with the creative vision we have set for the characters and the journey they are on. At the end of the day, Pushpa Impossible is a show made with the audience, not just for them. Their pulse keeps us inspired, grounded, and committed to telling stories that truly matter.
What can viewers expect next in Pushpa Impossible?
Viewers can expect Pushpa’s story to get even more inspiring and emotional. Her “nothing is impossible” spirit will continue to shine through new twists and surprises. We’ve worked on making performances sharper and storylines stronger, ensuring the audience stays connected and inspired by her journey.
