Amidst the coronavirus pandemic scare people are still not ready to gather in crowds and attend events in person. However, just like the last time when the PTC Network gave wings to a new era by hosting the events online, the network continued with this new normal and hosted PTC Punjabi Music Awards 2020 on November 1 with the same level of grandness.
Beating all the odds this year, the network has organised PTC Punjabi Music Awards 2020 online with DainikSavera as print partner, Big FM as Radio Partner and Simply Bhangra as digital partner spread out the word for the event. The technical team set up a virtual stage to make the give the same excitement to the audiences as the event unfolded.
The pandemic just could not stop our team to honour the best in the music industry, as it is the music industry only, which has helped us cope up in the new normal by giving new and amazing songs throughout the pandemic.
The event started with the hosts AparshaktiKhurana and Khushbu Grewal making their impression on the stage with the viewers. The show was opened with Dance Era’s magical performance followed by B Praak’s melodious one.
Later on, singers Harshdeep Kaur and Kanwar Grewal added the sparkle to the glitter in between the awards with their performances.
PTC Network’s Managing Director and President Rabindra Narayan said “It took weeks of designing the set, plotting every move, creating virtual stage lights, moving heads, pyros and other SFX as well as the virtual LED wall where every single inch of space was meticulously plotted. Every look and gesture of the artistes waswell coordinated. More than technology, it was the mind and innovative ideas deployed to create the experience which mattered.”
Meanwhile, the proud winners were celebrated with great applause. The big winners include B Praak and Sukh-E Musical Doctorz for sharing the trophy of the most popular song of the year,i.e, ‘Filhall’ and ‘Coka’. The best pop vocalist male trophy was also shared by Guru Randhawa for ‘Slowly Slowly’ and Diljit Dosanjh for the song ‘Surma’, while Sunanda Sharma grabbed the female trophy in the same category for the song ‘Sandal’.
Karan Aujla becomes the best new age sensation for his song ‘Don’t Look’. ‘AdhiRaat’ by RanjitBawa grabbed the sad song of the year followed by ‘Pagal’ by Gurnam Bhullar as the most romantic song of the year. Diljit was honoured with another trophy for the song ‘Thug Life’ which is the best bhangra song of the year, while ‘She Don’t Know’ by MillindGaba is the best club song of the year.
The award night ended on a positive note with the audience enjoying the show on their TV sets, while the show aired exclusively on PTC Punjabi Facebook page on November 2 at 7 PM. The viewers enjoyed this most awaited celebration across 7 countries on TV and Social media.
The unique initiative was successfully brought to its final point as the audience was overwhelmed with the performances and how the team used the latest technology to bring entertainment to their homes.
