Every character leaves behind a story, but some characters leave behind emotions that an actor carries long after the cameras stop rolling. Actress Falak Khan, who portrayed Safiya Baig in Colors TV‘s Seher Hone Ko Hai, looks back at her journey with the show and the special connection she continues to share with the character. As the show prepares to bid farewell to its audiences, Safiya Baig continues to remain close to the hearts of viewers, with fans expressing their desire to see the character back on screen. For Falak, playing Safiya was not merely about portraying a character but about experiencing a journey filled with emotions, challenges and memories that shaped her as a performer.

Talking about her journey as Safiya Baig, Falak says, “Safiya Baig is a character that will always hold a special place in my heart. When you portray someone for a considerable period, you gradually become emotionally connected to their journey. You start understanding their reactions, emotions and the little things that make them who they are. For me, Safiya was not just a character I played in front of the camera; she was someone I got to live through every day on set. Even today, when I look back, I feel a special emotional connection with her.”

Speaking about the audience’s continued love and demand to see Safiya on screen, she adds, “It feels incredibly special when fans still express how much they miss Safiya Baig and want to see her back on screen. I believe what made Safiya connect with people was her expressive nature and the dramatic emotions she brought into every situation. As an actor, you always hope that your performance reaches the audience, but when people remember your character even after your journey with the show has moved forward, it is truly overwhelming. Their love makes me realise that Safiya has left a lasting impression.”

Revealing what she misses the most about playing the character, Falak says, “I definitely miss being Safiya Baig. There is something beautiful about stepping into a character’s world and discovering a new emotion every day. I miss the atmosphere on set, the people, the laughter between shots and all those little moments that never make it to the screen but become some of your fondest memories. Audiences see the final performance, but behind every scene there is so much effort, teamwork and emotion that goes into creating it.”

Adding further, she reveals, “As actors, we understand that every journey has its own timeline, but that does not mean the emotional connection ends when you stop shooting. I look at this experience as something that has helped me evolve, both personally and professionally. Safiya allowed me to explore a different side of myself as an actor, and I will always be thankful to the entire team for trusting me with this character. The fact that audiences continue to remember her makes the journey even more meaningful.”

Concluding on a heartfelt note, Falak says, “I would love audiences to continue remembering Safiya Baig with the same love with which I portrayed her. Their appreciation makes all the hard work worthwhile, and that is something no ending can take away. Although I wrapped up my shooting for the show in June, the emotional connection I share with Safiya remains just as strong. She continues to live on through the memories, the performances and, most importantly, the audience’s love. I am grateful for everything this character has given me, and I am excited about what lies ahead. Safiya will always be a beautiful part of my acting journey.”
