We saw how Colors TV’s Choti Sarrdaarni sketched the life of one such woman, Meher, who overcomes hardships and fights fearlessly to become an invincible mother. Based on the land of Punjab’s Sardool Garh, the show traces the life of Meher Dhillon portrayed by Nimrit Kaur, a level headed Punjabi girl who dreams of a perfect life with Manav portrayed by Hitesh Bharadwaj, the one she loves.
All her dreams are broken and hopes come crashing down due to difficulties created by Meher’s mother Kulwant portrayed by Anita Raj and she is left to fight her own battles. She then meets Sarabjit Gill, portrayed by Avinesh Rekhi a politician and a single father, and her life takes an unexpected turn. Fierce and full of fire, Meher emerges stronger, learns to combat her fears, and becomes the protector of her family, a Choti Sarrdaarni.
On the other hand, we have Naagin. Do you remember when the trailers of Ekta Kapoor’s show Naagin started airing on Colors TV, people assumed that the new show would be nothing more than a retelling of things Bollywood had already taught us about the icchadhaari naagin–a mythical shape-shifting snake–who likes revenge and hates snake charmers and the bean.
However, the television ratings and the audience response had a completely different story to tell. With many seasons of the show aired so far, here are the reasons why the loyal fans of this supernatural collection will miss the sequence.
The show stars many lead actors of telly worlds. We saw Mouni Roy, Arjun Bijlani, Ada Khan in the 1st and 2nd season. In 3rd season, we saw Pearl V Puri as Mihir and Surbhi Jyoti as Bela. And now in the 4th series, we see Dev and Brinda played by Vijendra Kumeria and Nia Sharma. It also has Anita Hassanandani and Rashami Desai as Naagins.
So, which is your favorite show among the two?
