Over the past many years of the Hindi film industry, many voices have come and gone but none and absolutely none have earned more respect than that of Lata Mangeshkar aka Nightingale.

Not many know that Lata ji has also worked as a child actor before getting to sing and record her first song for a Marathi film in 1942. Lata ji is the first Indian to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in 1974. In 1989, Lata ji was awarded with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award & was also awarded with the Bharat Ratna Award in the year 2001.

As Lata Mangeshkar turned 90 today, fans and admirers of the golden nightingale including Film Director Madhur Bhandarkar wished Lata Ji on her 90th birthday.

Well, all we can say is may the golden voice remain and may she live 100 years more. For more such updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com.
