Tapu cleverly changed the rules, which annoyed Bhide and he scolded Jethalal. Jethalal became irritated and started shouting at Tapu for his mischief. He insisted that Tapu should study and gave him an example of the great Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He said that when Jawaharlal Nehru was of Tapu’s age, he used to study a lot. In response, Tapu said that when Nehru was Jethalal’s age, he was the country’s prime minister.
- Tapu doesn’t want to appear for his exams because he already knows the results every year. He tells his father, Jethalal, that he has planned not to take the exam this year. Jethalal becomes furious and asks Tapu when he plans to take the exam. Tapu replies that he may take it next year or the year after. Upon hearing this, Jethalal blames Babuji, Tapu’s grandfather, for spoiling Tapu with extra love, care, and support. Babuji gets upset and says that if he is the reason, he will leave and go back to his old house in the village.
