We might have seen a lot of changes in the storyline of the show in the past ten years. While viewers love each and every character, there have been many replacements in the show during the last few years.
Disha Vakani aka Dayaben has been the most loved character on Television. However, after giving birth to her daughter, she went on maternal leave and did not return.
There were also reports in media that Disha demanded a fee hike for her comeback. She used to charge Rs 1.25 lakh per episode and now she has asked them to give her around Rs 1.50 lakh per episode. However, there was no confirmation to these reports.
On the other hand, the show recently underwent a cast change wherein actor Sunanya Fozdar stepped into the shoes of Neha Mehta to play the role of Anjali on the show. Post the lockdown, Neha did not resume the shoot. Later came in the news that she had opted to move out of the show.
In interviews with varied publications, Neha has clarified that she has had a great time working with the production and cast. However, she finds the need to move on and explore different new avenues. She had mentioned of getting few offers, but not taking them up as she did not want to quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Also, Neha had mentioned about the set lacking in terms of discipline and decorum to an extent.
