On Super Dancer – Chapter 4, Chota Packet Bada Dhamaka – Saumit Barman from West Bengal stole everyone’s heart during his audition round itself but this time it was his mother who took away the hearts of all the judges, especially the guests – Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

This weekend on Super Dancer – Chapter 4, celebrating the folk-fusion dance culture, contestant Saumit and super guru Vaibhav gave a dynamic dance performance. It was a perfect blend of South Ki energy and Maharashtra KA masala – coined the ‘Tolly-Koli’ dance form. The performance garnered excellent comments from all the judges.

Talking about the dance form Vaibhav shared, “This is the first time that I have performed such a dance form, a fusion of Maharashtrian and South culture. It was truly amazing to put this fusion together with my shisya Saumit”. While Sachin spoke about Saumit, Supriya eagerly shared that she learned about Saumit’s mother and how she does a cartwheel, the veteran actor asked Saumit’s mother how did she learn? Saumit’s mother replied in Bengali, which was translated by Anurag dada, and said, “I used to see kids practice in school and I learned only by observing them”. Supriya and others were amazed to learn about it.

Vaibhav was happy to share that Saumit’s mother had a special dance act prepared for Malaika Arora on ‘Munni Badnam’ and would like to dance with her on stage. The two ladies set the stage on fire with their moves and grooves, Malaika was surprised to see Saumit’s mother dance so gracefully, she even tried to perform a back flip but was too overwhelmed.

Amidst all the folk-fusion conversations, judge Anurag Basu revealed about a Koli song – ‘Mi Dolkar Daryacha Raja’ which got extremely famous in Bengal. Anurag Basu shared, “’Mi Dolkar’ was a huge hit in Bengal, sometimes some music and culture are universal in nature. This particular song got famous in Maharashtra and equally in Bengal also”. Without wasting any further time, Sachin Pilgaonkar immediately sung a few lines from the song in his melodious voice.

Furthermore, it was revealed that during rehearsals, Vaibhav teaches Marathi to Saumit and vice-versa, it was delightful to see Saumit and Vaibhav speak in each other’s language so fluently. Saumit and Vaibhav also got the seedhe for their mind-blowing performance.
