The episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah starts with the Inspector requesting all the society members to return the mango box or he will have to personally check everyone’s house.

Bapuji tells Popatlal that he already checked everyone’s house, yet he called Chalu Pandey to check their house. Dr. Hati asks if Popatlal doesn’t trust them. Popatlal says he already has mentioned to the inspector that no one from the society has taken the mango box.
Inspector Chalu Pandey says no one from the society has taken the box, nor any outsider entered the society, then where did the box go. Popatlal says he will think about the mango box later, now he needs his parcel urgently, as Pooja is waiting for me. Popatlal asks the Inspector to take his parcel from Harish. Harish says he is ready to give the parcel to Popatlal if he gives him Rs 4000, or else he has to pay from his pocket. Inspector asks Popatlal to pay him Rs 4000.

Popatlal says he will not give any penny to Harish, as he did not take the box. Iyer asks Popatlal to pay Harish now and can take the money back when the Inspector finds the mango box.
Popatlal agrees and says he has to go home and get cash. Popatlal asks Harish to come with him. Harish asks Inspector to come with him. Inspector asks why Harish wants him to come to Popatlal’s house.
Harish says what if Popatlal flips and declines to give him money. All the society members say Popatlal is an innocent man and can never do such. Inspector says he believes that Popatlal is an innocent man, but he needs to do his work.
Everyone goes to Popatlal’s house. Popatlal asks Inspector to have a seat until he gets the money. Inspector and Sodhi have a conversation.

The inspector notices a box behind Popatlal’s sofa. He checks the box and finds mangos in it.
Harish says Popatlal hid the box and was blaming him. Inspector goes into Popatlal’s room and asks him to come out. The inspector shows Popatlal the box and asks what is the matter. Popatlal sees the mango box and gets shocked.
Inspector says he has to arrest Popatlal as he fooled the police and tried to steal the mango box. Popatlal says he did not steal anything and doesn’t know how the mango box came into his house.
Popatlal says Pooja is waiting for him and if he doesn’t meet Pooja then again he will have to stay bachelor.
