Today’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 16 May episode starts with Naira and Goenka family being upset because of a news article that has Naira’s (Shivangi Joshi) picture but Kartik (Mohsin Khan) was cropped out. Kartik asks all of them to make with it. Manish says this is a very common thing the media world, and we shouldn’t pay attention to it. Naira starts packing for the meeting and then Manish comes in to check on Naira.
He asks Kartik about a client. Kartik replies they aren’t reverting well, and rejecting many of the designs. Naira gets Mihir’s call. She asks about the same client. Mihir tells them that he is competing with Goenkas and Naira has the caliber to beat them. Naira refuses to compete with Kartik. Meanwhile, Devyani finds Lacchi sneaking in Kirti’s room.
She decides to scold her, but Lacchi escapes and plans a doll in her bed to divert the family members. In the morning, Kartik wishes Naira all the best. Just before Naira could leave, Akhilesh informs the family that their client has accepted all their design. Kartik couldn’t understand. He asks Naira about it. Naira said she backed off from the competition. Kartik lashes at Naira.
Naira leaves in dismay and Kartik realizes his fault so he apologies and bids farewell to her. Naira spots Lachchi in the market and calls Kriti, which is when she says that Lachchi is sleeping her room.
