Sunil Shanbag was born on the 7th of October in the year 1956 and is now known as one of the most eminent names in the theatre world. Sunil Shanbag has made some marvelous contributions to the theatre world and is highly appreciated for it by many across the country. He is a well renowned director in the world of Indian theatre. Not only that, but he is also a screenwriter and a maker of great documentary films.
The legendary theatre director graduated from Mumbai University and although he did not have any extensive training in the theatre world, he has managed to mark his name in the field. He worked with Satyadev Dubey for years in theatre and Satyadev now refers to him as his foremost protégés for his commendable works. After years of working with determination and passion, Sunil founded his own theatre company called Arpana and the group is now famous for performing plays written by original Indian playwrights with great actors and a brilliant use of dramatic music. One of the most popular plays by him was performed in the year 2007 and was called Cotton 56 Polyester 84. The play was so phenomenal that its admiration spread like wildfire across the country. Some more examples of his great plays are S*x, M*rality & Cens*rship and Dreams Of Taleem.
