Girish Karnad and his gift to Indian theatre

The Indian theatre world has gifted us with some of the best theatre personalities we have ever known. Most of these include playwrights, actors, directors, etc. We too know one such famous playwright from the theatre world named Girish Karnad. He is a very prominent name in the Indian theatre world. He is not only a theatre playwright but also an Indian film actor and director.

The great personality was born in Matheran on the 19th of May only 1938 and passed away in June 2019 on the 10th. Girish wrote plays in mainly the language Kannada and they were then translated into English, mostly by him. He was also the director of the Film and Television Institute Of India and the chairman of the Sangeet Natak Akademi. He made some pretty iconic plays in his time. The best ones include Taledanda, The Dreams Of Tipu Sultan and The Fire And The Rain. These parts were lived by not only people across our country but also across the globe.
