He acted in a television serial because he got it by chance and thought that this would put an end to his career in football. He started doing theatre after he stopped playing football. Three months after his mother died, Shah Rukh Khan came to Mumbai to try his hand at acting. When he came to Mumbai he got the chance of doing 1 episode of, ‘Wagale Ki Duniya’ in which he worked along with Saeed Mirza, Aziz Mirza, Ketan Mehta, and Kundan Shah.

From working in this serial and playing small roles in TV shows, his talent was eventually recognised by G.P. Sippy who cast him in the film, ‘Raju Bangaya Gentleman’. Shah Rukh Khan says that on that particular day he signed four more films that were offered to him.

This is how Shah Rukh Khan had given his career kick-start in the world of Bollywood.
