The Crown is viewed by everyone. The number of people who watched season four is reportedly over 29 million, however, it doesn’t feel like it. Seasons 1 through 3 received a total of 73 million viewers in the past. Why? Rumor has it that The Crown is the most expensive show ever produced for the streaming service. Part of the acting—in 2021, it won all seven drama Emmy awards. But part of it also involves striking a delicate balance between dramatizing the private lives of the British royal family while remaining faithful to actual events. We are insatiably intrigued by actual palace intrigue, whether we like to admit it or not.

Although Claire Foy has been a successful actress for well over a decade, her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in the Netflix series The Crown a few years ago made her a household name in Hollywood and the rest of the world.

Along with some of her customarily self-deprecating acceptance speeches, the role helped Foy win Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG awards. She also showed off her red carpet style. As Olivia Colman’s character, a new Queen, assumes the throne in The Crown, Foy has been working hard to diversify her acting career by playing other roles, including the fearless hacker Lisbeth Salander in The Girl In The Spider’s Web, the psychological thriller Unsane, and Janet Armstrong in First Man, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination.

Foy enjoys trying new things on the red carpet. The actress favors embroidered accents and varies between monochromatic basics and adventurous pieces, whether she’s donning her typical high-waisted trousers or a number of Erdem floral gowns. Her favorite fashion houses are Fendi, Gucci, and Valentino.

Let’s see some of her regal queen looks in gowns.
