Puja, Season 1 was already a big hit & now you have season 2. How do you look at this, pressure or opportunity?

Almost two years have passed between Season 1 and Season 2 (Paap: Antim Pawrbo), and we’ve experienced two lockdowns in between. Season 1 was a huge success and it’s been a long wait for season 2. I am aware of the expectation riding on the show and the pressure on me, but it also feels great to be able to entertain audiences again, especially at a time like this. So, I look at it as both a pressure as well as an opportunity.

Tell us a bit about your character of Parboni. Do you enjoy playing shady characters?

Parboni has a lot of layers and shades to her. While season one introduced her, season 2 will reveal more about her.
Parboni is very different from the characters I have played till date. Just like the audiences, I was equally curious and clueless as to who the murderer is. The suspect is not always the killer; it stands true for Parboni. It’s been extremely fulfilling playing Parboni as an actor and equally interesting knowing her as an audience.

In real life, how intrigued are you when it comes to murder mysteries and thrillers? Which are your all-time personal favourites?

More than murder mysteries, I love thrillers and horror content. The Byomkesh series on Hoichoi is one of my favourite detective thrillers shows. I am intrigued by the way the cases are solved in such an interesting manner. Stranger Things is another favourite of mine where what you suspect and expect never happens almost like our own series, Paap.

What do you think is the most exciting aspect of Paap – Antim Pawrbo which the viewers will love the most?

There has been so much speculation and fan theories about the show, but I am confident that the climax of Paap: Antim Pawrbo is going to take audiences by surprise. The climax is the most exciting aspect of the show.

How important has been the role of your director to help you explore more of Parboni?

I have had the opportunity to work with two directors for the series – with Anupam Hari for Season 1 and Joydeep Mukherjee for Paap: Antim Pawrbo. Both of them have done a fabulous job not just with the series, but also with my character Parboni as well. Anupam established the character of Parboni in season 1 and Joydeep revealed her character layer by layer in Antim Pawrbo. I would credit both the directors for guiding me the way they did and making Parboni look convincing on screen.

Lastly, a message for all your viewers and fans?

They are more than viewers and fans to me. I would say that they are my friends because only friends can support you the way they do. I would like to tell my friends that the wait has been long but it has finally ended on 4th June. Paap: Antim Pawrbo is already streaming and I would request all that please do watch and the ones who have already watched it, please do share your valuable feedback and I am hoping I will be back soon with a new series.
