The much-awaited Netflix web series Akka stars Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte, who sat down with a Filmygyan host for an honest conversation. During the interview, the actresses shared their contrasting perspectives on faith, religion, and the idea of a higher power.
While While Keerthy affirmed her belief in a higher power, Radhika spoke about her atheism and connection to nature. Their candid remarks offer a glimpse into their personal philosophies and individual outlooks on spirituality.
When asked if they believe in a higher power and energy that is there constantly, Keerthy nodded, “Yes,” explaining, “If you are asking if I believe in God, yeah, I believe there is some kind of power; I’m devotional, I pray the way I know, but I’m not religious. So, yeah, I do believe in God.”
Offering a completely contrasting perspective, Radhika highlighted her atheistic views but emphasized her deep connection to the environment. “I don’t believe in God, but I do believe in nature,” Radhika shared. “For me, nature is the ultimate higher power. I honestly wish people would worship nature over idols.”
Akka is an upcoming crime-thriller series scheduled to release on Netflix on October 30, 2026. Netflix and Yash Raj Films’ digital arm, YRF Entertainment, are collaborating on the project. Dharmaraj Shetty directed and wrote the film, which also stars Tanvi Azmi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Anshuman Pushkar, Monika Panwar, Poornima Indrajith, Vishak Nair, B. Jayashree, and Nivedita Bhargava.
