How was your experience working in Khakee – The Bihar Chapter?

It was an amazing experience working on this web series. The key factor of signing the show was the maker Neeraj Pandey. There was a long association with him as I have earlier worked with him. The second reason is that the series is inspired by the book – Bihar Diaries written by Lodha who reminisced about his time as a cop in the eastern state. Even though Chyawanprash is a criminal, he isn’t the kind of gangster that I played earlier. You sympathize with this character besides the fact it is a bad character. The arc of the character really excited me to come on board for my series. Be it Abhimanyu Singh, Anup Soni, Vinay Pathak, Ashutosh Rana, and Ravi Kishan, I met amazing co-actors while working on this series.

You played an intense role, how did you prepare for it?

My most of the study depends on the script. I read a lot as it helps me to imagine the character and scenario. I went through a lot of reading sessions. I spoke to my director and writer to understand the character better. For dialect, we had a trainer who was training us. While I was shooting for the show, I didn’t do anything over the top. I just followed the instinct of the role.

How was your experience working with the cast of the series?

It was great working with the cast as we had both senior and contemporary actors. We had senior actors Abhimanyu Singh, Anup Soni, Vinay Pathak, Ashutosh Rana, and Ravi Kishan and there were contemporary like Karan Tacker, Avinash Tiwary, Nikita Dutta, and Shraddha Das. When you become a part of such an ensemble, automatically your energy level goes high. We all complimented each other. All the actors were fantastic.

Which was the most challenging scene?

The climax scene was the most challenging one. In that particular scene, there was no dialogue. My character simply walks off in the other direction. I prepared for this particular scene for hours. People now are talking about the scene and I am feeling satisfied.

When you play such an intense character, how difficult it is to come out of it?

I think you remain in the soul of that character for some time but eventually, it is our practice as an actor to get in and out of the role. This role was challenging but I played it with ease and never forced it on myself. I believe that helped me detach from the role.

Who do you give credit to for your splendid performance in the series?

I don’t know to whom to give credit. But I am very thankful to Neeraj Pandey, Sheetal Bhatia, Bhav Dhulia, and Vicky Sadana as they chose me for this role. They believed I can pull off Chyawanprash Sahu.

Any final message

I am just thankful to god and my fans for always showering their love and support.
