Amazon Prime’s latest series, Exam, is a drama that will keep you invested. The series will relate to you, given the current scenario: in the country, after NEET UG 2026 was canceled following the discovery of leaked papers. However, in this story, the focus is on the UPSC exam scams.
The series follows the story of a young woman named Jhansi, played by Dushara Vijayan, who brings her character to life with sincerity and dedication. She kidnaps an incoming female police officer named Maramalli, played by Aditi Balan. She is strong, effortless, and adds intensity.
Jhansi takes the position of Maramalli in the fictional town Uthaga Malai. But what seems to be an unethical action sets the stage for the drama ahead: Jhansi doesn’t wish to wear the police uniform, but she takes on the role to investigate the dark realities beneath the exams and the scams surrounding them. What makes the story worth watching is how it progresses, taking viewers on a gripping ride with its narration.
Actress Dushara is undoubtedly ruling the role of a disguised police officer, bringing her best to it. The series is predictable, but at times it exceeds our expectations. Produced by Wallwatcher Films (Pushkar and Gayatri), it is directed by A. Sarkunam, who, with fine attention to detail, frames scenes that connect the dots beautifully. The film scores decently with visual representation, while the impactful performances rule hearts.
Overall, ‘Exam’ is something different yet relatable. The series effectively shows the realities behind government exam scams. The background music adds to the drama and intensity of the scenes, while the dark-themed sequences make it impactful.
IWMBuzz rates Exam 3 out of 5 stars.
