The third season lands with that same resolute purpose, exploring how one can rise from the rubble and illuminating the arduous journey of carving out pathways in between the machinery of the system. Season 3 arrives with that same mission: to remind you that every climb, no matter how steep, is worth the struggle.
The narrative intertwines two different timelines, each echoing the universal battles of ambition and integrity. In the current, Abhilash Sharma (Naveen Kasturia) has swapped exam halls for the stark corridors of administrative power as a District Magistrate. Here, the stakes are higher, the battles more personal. The inquiry triggered by Sandeep Ohlan (Sunny Hinduja)—once a mentor, now a rival—feels like the world’s weight on Abhilash’s shoulders. Friendships that once felt unbreakable begin to fracture under the pressure and give way to the chill of professional rivalry.
Yet, the show doesn’t let you forget where it all began. The flashbacks to Mukherjee Nagar, with its cramped rooms and hopeful hearts, ground the story in nostalgia and relentless hope. Watching Abhilash return to the chaos of UPSC prep, despite already being an IRS officer, is what reflects the human drive for more—for meaning, for validation.
The Emotional Quotient Factor
The bit that got us intrigued the most. The subtle exploration of emotional intelligence as a survival tool. Radha Rajesh (Mallika Prasad) gives a brief lesson to the viewers in the moment when Abhilash and Sandeep are given anecdotes to solve using their EQ. Both stumble. Abhilash was buried in textbook logic, failing to strike a balance with the human element. Sandeep treats the anecdote as emotionally overwrought. Both defy the norms of EQ. The lesson is not just for the civil servants, it’s for all of us—balance is what we all need; neither one should escape from their emotions, nor should one go all-in on it.
