It’s the story of a golgappa seller, Madhav, who, as usual, joyfully sells golgappe, and one day the business queen of London, Riya Malhotra, gives him an elite ATM card, revealing his hidden truth, but Madhav is unable to understand her, takes the card casually, and keeps it with himself. Story TV’s Golgappe Wala Arabpati is based on the familiar rags-to-riches tale, struggling to leave an impact.
It follows the repeated story of how a poor guy, unaware of his real wealth, turns the tables when his girlfriend Kavya humiliates him for his poverty. And suddenly, from being treated ill to becoming a Billionaire, his life changes completely.
Despite the narrative having high drama and intensity, the repeated storyline makes it too predictable.
The cast, featuring Jay Soni in the central role of Madhav Rathod and Puja Sharma as Riya Malhotra, portrayed their characters with sincerity, but the lack of freshness overshadowed their performance.
The major sequences rely on clinches viewers have already seen in dramas, which stands as a barrier to staying invested. Elements like different love angle touches, differently shot sequences, and twists could have saved the experience.
Golgappe Wala Arabpati is a microdrama that unfolds as expected, and this becomes its weak point. And despite the decent performance, the repetitive plot failed to keep viewers wanting to see more. Overall, if you love Jay Soni, it is worth watching.
IWMBuzz rates Golgappe Wala Arabpati 2 out of 5 stars!
