What makes a good crime drama? Well, it’s not how brutal a crime is, the attempt, or the bloodbath, but the suspense that keeps one engaged, the emotional touch that connects, and the sharply written storyline that balances all the aspects. And such is JioHotstar’s Inspector Avinash 2, based on the life of Uttar Pradesh’s super cop Avinash Mishra.

The second season continues, but this time, the drama gets even more intense, the crimes get even more brutal, and the gritty tale keeps one invested. Actor Randeep Hooda yet again delivers raw intensity, entertaining the viewers to the best. But what doesn’t work in favor of the 30 to 45-minute 10-episode series is the predictability of the storyline, which we have seen many times in cop crime thrillers.

Inspector Avinash 2 Story

In the second season, the series follows the tale of Inspector Avinash, played by Randeep, who returns with bigger risks, bigger agendas, and more emotional baggage, turning the story dark and focusing on the deadly battle between crime and law. The series grips viewers as Avinash invests in a dangerous weapons cartel led by Sheik (Amit Sial) and Devi (Abhimanyu Singh).

What makes the tale engaging is that, amid the investigation, Avinash navigates political conspiracies and personal struggles. And this time the battle isn’t just professional but gets complicated as Avinash’s son gets accused of a murder while his wife demands that he leave his police job, and the unexpected twists keep one invested.

Actor Randeep yet again brings his A-game to the screen, delivering raw intensity and emotion. He played the role with conviction, and the emotional scenes beautifully show his layered character.

Actress Urvashi Rautela is a sweet surprise as Randeep’s wife. Her character brings in that necessary emotional depth, which makes the storyline connect.

Shalin Bhanot gives his best and adds to the series’ intensity. As Avinash’s friend, he wins hearts. Abhimanyu Singh as Devi takes the central stage in the conflict, while Amit Sial rules as Sheikh yet again.

The best part of the series is the strong performances by all the actors, which elevate the experience. The background music needs special mention, as without it, the intensity wouldn’t feel the same.

Directed by Neerraj Pathak, he portrays scenes with conviction, making it feel realistic. The film scores well in visual presentation, produced by Gold Mountain Pictures, Jio Studios, and Spotless Films.

Overall, Inspector Avinash 2, despite its familiar tropes, shines, keeping viewers engaged with its intense scenes, twists, emotional depth, and action.
