Sixer, the TVF web series, chronicles within not so ‘triumphant’ tennis player Nikku aka Shivankit Singh Parihar and his team of ‘dark horses’ who are on a steady hunt to win a local match. Arunabh Kumar, the CEO of TVF devised the series with six gluey episodes with a running time of one hour each.

With a heavy spin of Sturm und Drang in the course of the moving series, we get to witness a roller-coaster of emotions, fracas and a constant urge to gain ‘validation’. The emotional quest of Nikku starts with his introduction, who wagers on the forefront of betting ‘sixes’ and showcases his batting skills against a hedonistic opponent in his locality. That’s where we find the penultimate ‘directorial’ stroke to get the audience to get fastened in the loop of Nikku and his story.

The six-part web series tweaks to its paramount narrative, which encapsulates a country town team called Vijaynagar Vijetas, which has a legacy of wide-margin losses, followed by a ceremonial clean sweep. However, Nikku turns over to join a better team there forth, in order to boost his odds of succeeding. While that, the core of the plot gets a twist after a local politician offers to sponsor Nikku’s team who once defrauded his father financially, which flexes into the realm of the axiology that roots cricket.

The entire ensemble features Badri Chavan as Aussie, Rahul Tewari as Alok, Karishma Singh as Gargi, Brij Bhushan Shukla as Rajesh Bhaiya, Vaibhav Shukla as Deepak, Puneet Batra as Gopwani, Prashant Singh as Anant Pratap Singh, Suraj Rikame as Arshad, Anandeshwar Dwivedi as Nagu bhaiya, Vivaan in pivotal roles.

Adhering to that, the TVF’s series draws as a must-watch for every cricket buff out there!

We would rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
