Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan—the title suggests a soft romantic micro-drama, and while there is a touch of that, the show is actually about betrayal, love, greed, and crime. Despite operating on a highly predictable premise, is this short-format series worth adding to your watchlist? Let’s decode.
The Love Triangle
This is the story of a blind man named Ritik Raichand, who is quite wealthy. His wife, Maya, pretends to love him deeply, but she is actually having an affair with a man named Bhuvan, who also happens to work at Ritik’s company. Together, Maya and Bhuvan betray Ritik and try to fraudulently seize his property. As for whether or not they succeed—well, you can easily guess that for yourself.
Direction, Screenplay And More
Though the core mystery is easy to deduce early on, the quick-hitting format keeps the pacing tight. The director handles the short episodes well, leaning on sharp scene transitions to sustain viewer interest.
While the dialogue is relatively standard, the engaging screenplay keeps the series from feeling stagnant, making it a decent choice for casual viewing.
Performances
This mini-episode series has been largely saved by its cast. The show features Kunal Jaisingh—known for his acting skills—who once again impresses as Ritik. He portrayed a blind character exceptionally well, and his strong personality has also left its mark.
Fahad Ali, who usually appears in positive roles, is shining in a ‘grey’ (morally ambiguous) role this time. His intensity, expressions, and screen presence elevate the experience.
Akanksha Puri also looks really good. Her character is inherently grey, yet she strikes a great balance by also portraying a positive persona; furthermore, her chemistry with both actors comes across well.
Overall, Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan follows a well-trodden narrative path. However, if you enjoy quick corporate thrillers driven by capable television actors, its brief runtime makes for an entertaining, easy watch.
