Story TV’s latest offering, X Ray Nazar Wala Hero, follows the same path as many short-format dramas. It tries to blend romance drama with a pinch of fantasy into a fast-paced microdrama, but it struggles to leave a lasting impact and misses key elements.

The story follows Chirag, a genuine and dedicated common man who becomes powerful with an unexpected power in his eyes—the ability to foresee things. Without misusing his power, he becomes Roohi’s protector, and she chooses him over the business tycoon after he saves her. However, in the pursuit of protecting her, Chirag falls in love; so does Roohi, leading to intrigue, secrets, and romantic complications.

What happens next may not be predictable, but it isn’t interesting either. Despite a brief story that could work, the storytelling fails to generate excitement about what comes next. Additionally, the fantasy element feels more like a convenient plot device than an engaging narrative hook.

Actor Sagar Parekh, who is known for his role in the hit TV show Anupamaa, delivered his best as Chirag. But the weak story and screenplay completely dissolve the experience. At the same time, Eshaanya Mmaheshwari looked stunning and beautifully portrayed Roohi’s emotions, but as I said earlier, the storytelling spoils the overall impact.

Short-format storytelling demands sharper twists and stronger emotional stakes, which the series fails to deliver consistently. Ultimately, it remains a familiar fantasy drama with little freshness. Though it is short-format, makers should aim for better scripts rather than repeated drama.
